Welcome to another beautiful day in the neighborhood.
It’s beautiful because you’re my neighbor and your part of it. I got something in my email a few years ago that I saved, because it said so much to me, I may have shared it with you before, but I want to share it again with you. It’s perfect for this time, because it reveals to us just how easy it is to love, just how easy it is to be an individual savior in a world that’s begging to be saved, person by person, moment by moment. It’s another case where adults can learn from children. How Many Minutes a Day Does it Take to Read the Bible in a Year?

An Advent Story “For nothing is impossible with God” Luke 137
The Holiday Season is full of delightful stories of good winning over evil, Stories and books like……..A Christmas Carol; How The Grinch Stole Christmas; The Night Before Christmas and many others. In a new Advent book, “Sum: Forty Tales From The Afterlives,” David Eagleman imagines what might happen after we die and the chance to choose one’s next life. One person who desires simplicity chooses to come back as a horse! Why not? Grazing green pastures, frolicking over the hillsides, running across the plains with not a care in the world; and doing all of this as a big, literal stud. His decision is made, God speaks, and the transformation begins.

Welcome to another beautiful month in paradise. Look with the eyes of your soul and see the beauty in others and you will see you are in paradise.
I think it is interesting that, at least in my lifetime and in this society, we celebrate a time for giving thanks before we move in to the season of giving gifts and sharing peace and joy and creating and witnessing miracles and magic. This seems so appropriate: to give thanks for the blessings and good in our life first. All of our prayers should be prayers of thanks for good always comes out of every situation and event. It may not be seen right away but good will come from it. Meister Eckhart said it long ago: “If the only prayer you ever said was ‘thank you’ that would be sufficient.”Social Security- Questions and Answers By Erin Thompson, Public Affairs Specialist in Toledo, OH
Question:
Is it true that if you have low income you can get help paying your Medicare premiums?
Answer:
Yes. If your income and resources are limited, your state may be able to help with your Medicare Part B premium, deductibles, and coinsurance amounts. State rules vary on the income and resources that apply. Contact your state or local medical assistance, social services, or welfare office, or call the Medicare hotline, 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), and ask about the Medicare Savings Programs. If you have limited income and resources, you also may be able to get help paying for prescription drug coverage under Medicare Part D. Call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY users should call 1-800-325-0778) or visit any Social Security office.

We will have a Parish celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Rite of Penance) on Tuesday evening, December 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the Church, it will include Advent Vespers, and all are invited to attend. The cry of the prophet to “prepare the way of the Lord” (Isaiah 40:3) echoes throughout the season of Advent. Our Church has long used this mantra as a call to the faithful to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance as a preparation for Christmas. Our spiritual preparation is to remove any sin from our hearts so that we might be ready to accept Christ’s presence worthily, and His gift of peace. Continue reading
