Padre Pio Prayer Group

Dear Parish Bulletin Reps:  April is dedicated to The Holy Spirit. The Holy Father’s Intentions for the Month of April, 2021:  Fundamental Rights:  We pray for those who risk their lives while fighting for fundamental rights under dictatorships, authoritarian regimes and even in democracies in crisis.  Feasts for April:  Holy Thursday (4/1), Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion (4/2), Holy Saturday (4/3), Easter Sunday (4/4), Bernadette (4/16), Anselm (4/21), George and Adalbert (4/23), St .Fidelis (4/24), Peter Chanel (4/28), Catherine of Siena (4/29), Pius V, Blessed Marie de l’Incarnacion (4/30).

After our solemn commemoration of the last days and death of Our Lord we will spend the month of April celebrating.  We continue the entire month with our cry, “Christ is risen, Christ is truly risen.”  The Feast of Divine Mercy offers us the opportunity to begin again as though we were newly baptized.  Easter is the feast of feasts, the unalloyed joy and gladness of all Christians.  This truly is “the day that the Lord has made.  “God’s spirit is a spirit of peace, and even when we have serious fault, he grants us a tranquil, humbled, confident pain which depends entirely on His mercy.” ~St. Padre Pio.
April boasts the most solemn and sublime event of human history: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ – the Paschal mystery.  Though the way to the Resurrection was the Via Crucis, the Sacrificial Lamb of God is now and forever Christ our Light, the Eternal high priest of the New Covenant.  And his sorrowful mother, the Stabat Mater of Good Friday, is now the jubilant Mother of the Regina Coeli. – “Don’t allow any sadness to dwell in your soul, for sadness prevents the Holy Spirit from acting freely.”~ St. Padre Pio.
