Godly Posture By: Pastor Beau

BeauGreetings Beloved,

It is crunch time and you find yourself torn in two because you do not know what to do.
A quick review of your life and you see a well entrenched pattern of bad decisions and missteps and you ask yourself “why”.
In sports, we often compliment good coaches by saying they place their athletes and teams in a good position to win. What is this good position? Physical fitness; proper skills; proper attitudes/thinking; and team culture. Successful athletes and teams are, almost always, are fundamentally sound. These fundamentals can be readily seen in their physical and mental posture and composure. Championship teams have prepared for success through developing and maintaining the proper mental and physical posture. What is true in the physical has even greater ramifications in the Spiritual and decision making realm. In other words, to ensure a greater likelihood of making the Godly decision or breaking the cycle of Worldly (read bad) decisions, we must examine our spiritual and mental posture.

Beloved

BeauBeloved and Fellow Warriors for Christ,

“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and you labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.” (Is 55:1-2, ESV)
It was revealed again to me that the trouble I have gotten myself into is caused by one simple thing – I sought something other than Jesus Christ to satisfy me (idolatry). If I have complicated things in my life, gotten into debt, or made poor decision; it is because my spirit and soul (including intellect and emotions) longed for water and food, and I sought it at the wrong place. It is like going to McDonalds looking for filet mignon. You can search and search, but you will never find a filet at McDonalds.

Encouragement, See the Glory

Auth0001Beloved,
I am writing this before dawn in Delmas, Haiti. The crowded streets of the Port-Au-Prince metro area are beginning to wake. Roosters are crowing, and my boy is snoring in a dream like bliss. A few moments ago I finished preparing my sermon notes for the translator. And while doing this I asked myself, how is it possible that I have traveled to Haiti, my family’s home, to tell a suffering people that their suffering can bring glory to Christ and hope into their hearts as well as others. How could I dare tell this to a people who have suffered so much? How could I deliver this message to a man, a brother in Christ, who lost his only son in the earthquake? How could I express this message to a people who are scratching out a living, who go day to day searching for work? Why can’t I join the growing chorus who shout out about prosperity, provision, and blessings?

Do not fear the Chariots of Iron in your life

Auth0001Beloved,

The people of Joseph said:
Joshua 17:16 – “ …Yet all the Canaanites who dwell in the plain have chariots of iron, both those in Beth Shean (Bet’ She’ an) and its villages and those in the Valley of Jezreel.”
Joshua 17:17-18 – “Then Joshua said to the House of Joseph, to Ephraim and Mannasseh, You are a numerous people and have great power. You not have one allotment only, but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”
