Ever since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, death has been a curse on mankind.
The Apostle Paul tells us, “…sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned –“
He’s not just talking about our physical death that comes from natural causes, old age or sometimes from unexpected circumstances. But he’s also talking about the eternal death of our spirit.
Jesus tells us in John 5:28-29 that one day we’ll be raised from the physical death to judgment, either to eternal life or eternal damnation, depending if we’ve served the ways of the world or
if we’ve served the King!
The trouble we have is that we can’t earn salvation on our own! We’ve got sin in our lives and someone has to pay the price for that sin!
It’s a good thing for us, that Jesus took our sin upon himself and died for us in our place. He paid the price so that we could have eternal life. It’s a free gift and all we have to do is accept it! “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
The Bible says, “For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17)
With all that’s going on in the world today, isn’t it time to let Jesus pick up your tab, too?
