DAY OF ACTION EFFORT FULL OF MISINFORMATION

Ohio has extended protections to women at all stages of life
TOLEDO, Ohio:
Today, here in Toledo and in a small number of Ohio communities abortion rights activist groups, NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, Planned Parenthood and Capital Care Network, will stage media attention events. Sadly, their message is full of misinformation concerning the life-affirming work of the Ohio General Assembly in adopting Senate Bill 23, the Human Rights and Heartbeat Protection Act.

The majority of Ohioans believe the Heartbeat law protects women at all stages of life, especially in the pre-born stage. Regrettably, these groups believe in the killing of tens of thousands of girls in this state every year, all in the name of women’s healthcare.
The Human Rights and Heartbeat Protection Act, signed by Governor Mike DeWine, would prohibit an abortion procedure from taking place upon detection of a heartbeat in the developing baby. It is scheduled to take effect on July 11, pending the outcome of suits filed against it by abortion providers. The protestors suggest that the law is “unconstitutional,” but with advances in technology, the law is in keeping with the latest medical advances to preserve life.
“These groups want you to believe that Roe is settled law”, noted Margie Christie, President of Right to Life Action Coalition. “This could not be further from the truth. The Supreme Court just issued a ruling in the Hyatt case showing the willingness to re-consider 40+-year-old precedent, and in light of medical advancements, it’s time for Roe to be re-considered.”
Additionally, Ed Sitter, Executive Director of Foundation for Life and a coalition member, said “unborn children have two parents, and it’s time that men take back their role in fatherhood and its inherent decisions. Roe V Wade had no precedent to disenfranchise the rights of fathers in the decision-making process”.
Today, let’s remember that abortion is not healthcare, and it is certainly not an entitlement worthy of our tax dollars.  The Human Rights and Heartbeat Protection Act is a step in the right direction, re-establishing the right to life set forth in the Constitution for all humans with a detectable heartbeat whether they be in the womb or otherwise.
Right to Life Action Coalition encourages its member organizations and all Ohioans to stand up for mothers, fathers, and the preborn person and their natural constitutional right to life.
“Sweeter even than to have had the joy of children of my own has it been for me to help bring about a better state of things for mothers generally so that their unborn little ones could not be willed away from them.” – Susan B. Anthony
