Saint Luke’s Deanery Confession times during Lent “The Light is On” Good Friday, April 19 at 2:00-3:00 p.m. & 5:00-7:00 p.m. – Holy Trinity, Assumption .

Evening Prayer during Lent Vespers (Evening Prayer) will take place in Church on: Tuesday evenings, April 16, 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. Lent is our season of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, ancient practices dating back to the Israelites. Vespers is one of the prayers of The Liturgy of the Hours – the public prayer of the Church for praising God and sanctifying the day.

So How Old Was the Old Testament? It’s easier to understand Scripture when we have a sense of what followed what… who was before or after this person, etc. This four-session series will trace the time line from the beginning of the Old Testament to the close of the New Testament. Lunch ‘N Learn Program for All Parishioners and Guests The program begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. with the speaker to follow. The program will be held in the East Campus Meeting Rooms. Scouting for Food A scout is HELPFUL. The Pack 87 Cub Scouts are in search of nonperishable food items. Donation bins will be available in the narthex on April 6th-14th. Historic Saint Patrick Food Pantry is always in need of canned or boxed meals, tuna, noodles, rice, mac ‘n cheese and soup. Thank you for your support!

All Creation Gives God Praise: Protecting Biodiversity in Time of Climate Crisis: Earth Day 2019 – April 26 Grounded in Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, this year’s Earth Day program will help mobilize the Catholic community to take urgent action to protect all of God’s Creation. Join us Friday, April 26, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Saint John XXIII Parish Life Center, Roncalli Hall, 24250 N. Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg, OH. Learn about the alarming decline in the diversity and population of many plant and animal species – the gifts of God’s Creation which sustain all human life. You’ll also learn how we can protect all life through our individual actions, through our communities, and through national and global advocacy and action. This event is hosted by Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo’s Laudato Si’ Task Force and Saint John XXIII’s OurNEST (Natural Environmental Stewardship Team). Diocesan Jail & Prison Ministry Gathering to be held Saturday, May 4, in Findlay. Catholic Charities is hosting a Diocesan Jail & Prison Ministry Gathering at Saint Michael the Archangel’s Auditorium, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, OH. This event is open to anyone currently involved with or interested in volunteering for this Catholic Charities ministry. The event runs from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $25.00 and includes morning refreshments and lunch. ENERGIZE Attention all 6th, 7th and 8th graders Energize is a fun/social group in Youth Ministry. The goal of Energize is to actively grow in our faith through fun games, food, and outings. It is a great place to be silly and meet new friends! Energize is for youth in grades 6-8. We meet from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the West Campus. Our next gathering is May 3, 2019 – Watch the website for registration.

Alpha Youth series “Explores timeless questions about life, faith and God.” The series offers compelling stories, images, questions and discussion topics that engage youth and help them think about how issues relate to their lives. Alpha Youth is for students 13-16 years old. We will be running a Summer Alpha Youth Session. Watch the bulletin and Parish website for our Summer Alpha Youth series!!
