With the feast day of St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio) coming up this Sunday, September 23, it is fitting to provide a quote (“Go and keep company with Jesus in His Passion, and with His Sorrowful Mother.” ) of his speaking about the Blessed Mother, particularly through the Holy Rosary.  Padre Pio knew the importance Our Lady plays in the life of every Christian and knew the importance the Rosary plays in the hands of the Christians.
For us who face many trials these days in our world, St. Pio of Pietrelcina is one of the saints we must turn to for prayers and guidance.  He faced his trials and sufferings head on through prayer, the Holy Eucharist, and the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Always remember these words from him ‘ “Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry.”
Pope Francis announced he would canonize seven new saints October 14.  Among those to be canonized during the ‘Synod 2018 On Young People, the Faith, and Vocational Discernment’ are Blessed Paul VI, Blessed Oscar Romero, and Blessed Nunzio Sulprizio, an Italian teenager (1817-1836, 19 years).
October is also Respect Life (10/9) with the 2018 theme of “Every Life: Cherished, Chosen Sent”, and Pregnancy and Infant Loss month.  As both Our Lady of Fatima and St. Pio both invites us daily to ‘Pray the Rosary’.
May we respectfully request that you continue your active support of our monthly Padre Pio Prayer Group gatherings by inserting the following invitation in your parish bulletin, “Join our Padre Pio Prayer Group (PPPG-CK) each 2nd Saturday (10/13/18) monthly for the 8 AM Mass, Rosary, Discussion, Adoration @ Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623.  Invite everyone to pray the Rosary daily, as requested by Our Lady of the Rosary @ Fatima, and exemplified by St. Padre Pio.  Access ‘www.pppg.org‘ for info.  Contact Magdalena Skiles (419-356-4208) or email: ‘magdalena@magdalenaskiles.com‘.
