Ohio Supreme Court Has Not Ruled On Motion

Capital Care Network’s Motion for Reconsideration Still Pending

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, February 27, 2018 (Toledo, OH):  Yesterday Attorney General Mike DeWine’s office filed with the Ohio Supreme Court its response to Capital Care Network’s motion for reconsideration. Please accept my sincere apology for my fake news report yesterday. The pull quotes below are totally accurate and it is our belief the Ohio Supreme Court will affirm its ruling, as it considers both the Capital Care’s motion for reconsideration and the State of Ohio’s counter-argument.

Here are some pull quotes from the motion filed yesterday by the AG’s Office; “Appellee Capital Care Network of Ohio (the “Clinic”) offers no sound reason for the court to reverse course and reconsider its decision upholding the Department of Health’s 2014 order revoking the Clinic’s license. The Clinic is wrong. Reconsideration here is unjustified, and allowing a party to undo a judgment after a decision would undermine the rule of law.”

HORRIFIC

Pastor Rebert3 PicParkland, Fla. – A former student opened fire at a Florida high school Wednesday, killing at least 17 people and sending scores of students fleeing into the streets in the nations deadliest school shooting since a gunman attacked an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.
On the cover of the Detroit News, that day was, a picture of a mother holding a grieving girl in her arms.   The mother has tears rolling down her closed eyes.   On her forehead were ashes in the sign of the cross.   It was a present-day tragedy on Ash Wednesday.

Grief and tragedy, murders and bombing can happen on any day and at any place.   Ultimately there is only one place for comfort and healing.   It is in the soul.

Treasure Within

SONY DSCA man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves, he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could.

He thought little about it until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone!  Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure.  He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away! Continue reading »

Words of Faith

Love your neighbor as yourself.   Luke 10:27
.
Pastor Rebert3 PicOttawa Lake in Whiteford Township is a unique place.  It is a place where a traffic jam is when one is caught behind a tractor hauling hay – where kids and old adults wear Caterpillar ball caps – and where the township supervisor wears bluejeans and suspenders to work.  It is a place where people can still get two hot dogs, fries and a root beer float at the Mayberry Cafe for under 5 bucks.
Ottawa Lake is a place where the whole town shows up when their high school football team goes to the big city to play for the Michigan State Championship and wins or when their school puts on a Christmas concert and actually sings some Christmas carols.   Don’t be surprised to see the gym filled for a basketball game on a Friday night or when a township siren goes off when a person needs a helping hand or where church bells ring when a person passes away.

The Month of Love by Pastor Mark Miller

Pastor Mark (1)If you are married, if you are engaged-eagerly anticipating that wedding day, or are currently dating, if you have any sense (at all) you will be preparing for the day when we are to show special appreciation to those we love – what day is that?  Valentine’s day of course!

Love – the hallmark of a precious relationship, love which is growing deeper and deeper with each passing moment.  This is a wonderful time to reflect upon those with whom we are sharing our lives and to also look for the specialness in them.  Everyone knows how easy it is to take for granted the closest persons in our lives and not see the uniqueness which God has created in them.  How sad for many which do not understand Psalms 139.

Ps 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Continue reading »

A Rhythm of Prayer: Create a Plan

PastorMattMustericDear Fellow Disciples,

Do you have a set rhythm for daily prayer?

A process for developing a personal prayer rule.  We began with assessing where we currently are in terms of personal prayer practices and then we began to paint a compelling picture of where we would like to be. Then we created an initial plan. This week we will develop a personal prayer rule. Continue reading »
