Author/Trainer to speak at the NWO Prayer Breakfast

Nat Day Prayer SpeakerThe community of greater Toledo Area will again come together for the 25th Annual Northwest Ohio Prayer Breakfast in conjunction with the National Day of Prayer.  The Northwest Ohio Prayer Breakfast has become a premier local event that sees between 750 and 1,000 local business and community leaders in attendance.  This year’s event will again be held at the Premier Banquet Center (formerly called Gladieux Meadows) on Heatherdowns Blvd., on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 6:45 – 9:00 a.m. with the main event from 7-8:45 a.m. and 15 minutes of networking before and after. We are very excited to announce that our speaker for this year’s event is Krish Dhanam, a recognized expert in the field of human engineering and human development. As a curriculum designer he has worked with some of the brightest minds in the training and development space and authored programs on sales, service, staff development, presentation skills and leadership. The Prayer Breakfast provides a great opportunity to connect with others in the community while enjoying a great sit-down, breakfast. First Presbyterian Church in Waterville is Hosting a Broadway Night Fundraiser

On Thursday, March 27th, at 7 p.m. First Presbyterian Church in Waterville is hosting a Broadway Night fundraiser for the church-fundraisers.  Favorite Broadway tunes will be performed by folks from the churches supporting the food pantry.  The Anthony Wayne jazz choirs Close Harmony and Generally Jazz will be performing, as well as vocal students.  An offering will be collected and all proceeds will benefit the food pantry.  All welcome!

Community of Christ Lutheran Church offers Lenten Worship Based on “Son of God” movie

Lent Services will be offered on Wednesday evenings from March 12 through April 9 at Community of Christ Lutheran Church.  A four week Lenten sermon series based on the new movie “Son of God” will be presented, along with video clips from the movie. Thailand dance troupe to perform at Maumee church on Friday March 21st

First Presbyterian Church of Maumee, 200 E. Broadway Street, will host a dance/drama troupe from Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21. The troupe is currently on a nation-wide tour covering several states, including Ohio. The dancers and actors are professional staff members of the Christian Communications Institute (CCI), the evangelistic arm of Payap University.

The Institute was established almost 40- years ago for the purpose of teaching Christian truth through the use of Thai cultural expressions. During the school year these artists lead week-long renewal programs for elementary and secondary students. They teach ethical and spiritual values using music, dance, and drama. Although the Institute’s principal ministry is in Thailand, its performers have presented their art in more than a dozen countries on four continents. Continue reading »

CHRISTIAN FESTIVAL CHOIR SEEKS NEW MEMBERS

 

 

Choir clipartThe Christian Festival Choir invites area singers to join them in preparation for their annual spring concert “Exaltation 2014” in May. Rehearsals are being held every Saturday from 9 a.m to 12 noon at Reformation Lutheran Church, 4543 Douglas Rd.,Toledo. Members come from many churches in Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Mchigan and are being sought for all positions.
