Zion Lutheran Church, 8307 Memorial Hwy in Ottawa Lake, Mi. is having a Pig Roast on Saturday, May 19 from 4 to 6:30 pm. to build up the community and strengthen two weak links in the area.   The Pig Roast will benefit the church sponsored Food Pantry which provides 40 plus families with healthy food support and will for the first time sponsor a children’s summer called Christ Camp. World Day of Prayer for Vocations: On Sunday, April 22, 2018, the Catholic Church throughout the world celebrates the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. The purpose of this special day of prayer is to fulfill publically the instruction of Jesus who said: “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38) Please pray in a special way on this day for a renewed spirit of generosity in our community, so that we may all follow in the example of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who dedicated His life to serving others.
