Gifts For Friends For FREE — Author Unknown

SONY DSCTrue friends are not fussy or judgmental. They care not what you are worth or what you own. And they certainly understand the meaning of your friendship, and whatever you may give as a present comes from the heart. Here are some of the most heartfelt gifts you can offer good friends, without a bit of monetary investment.

1) THE GIFT OF LISTENING…
But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.

2) THE GIFT OF AFFECTION…
Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.

3) THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER…
Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, “I love to laugh with you.”

Welcome to another beautiful day in paradise.

SONY DSCLook with the eyes of your soul and see the beauty in others and you will see you are in paradise.
Today is Indigenous People’s Day. In some places it is official, in others it is unofficial. It is time to give respect and honor to those who were here before we and our ancestors were. It is time for atonement, i.e. to be at-one-ment with them. There is great wisdom they would share with us in their culture, traditions, practices and spirituality.
Look them up, do some research. Learning more about people makes them more real to us and allows us to understand them and respect them. We might even learn something from them.

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION AND CERTAIN DISABILITY PAYMENTS MAY AFFECT YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS
By Erin Thompson
Social Security Public Affairs Specialist in Toledo, OH

Many people working nowadays have more than one job, so it’s not uncommon for them to have several sources of income. Owning multiple small businesses, seasonal jobs, and the gig economy adds to the mix — and complexity — of our modern day economy. It’s important to keep in mind that having multiple sources of income can sometimes affect your Social Security benefits.
Disability payments from private sources, such as private pensions or insurance benefits, don’t affect your Social Security disability benefits. Workers’ compensation and other public disability benefits, however, may reduce your Social Security benefits. Workers’ compensation benefits are paid to a worker because of a job-related injury or illness. These benefits may be paid by federal or state workers’ compensation agencies, employers, or by insurance companies on behalf of employers. Continue reading »

A Reflection: On the Nature of Human Beings

SONY DSCWelcome to another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Thanks for being my neighbor and making our neighborhood beautiful.

A Reflection:  On the Nature of Human Beings

Some would have us believe that human nature has changed from its original state and is now inclined to evil, sin, and death. These consequences lead to a spiritual battle; a battle between the body and the soul; a struggle to do what is right and a belief that our basic instinct is survival.

Foundation for Life

CALL TO ACTION
Sidewalk Counselors and Prayer Warriors,

There is concern about coverage this Saturday afternoon. The regular sidewalk counselors will be out of town all day at a Sidewalk Counseling symposium and we are not aware of any sidewalk counselor who will be at the clinic in the afternoon.  The clinic is open that day.

Additionally, according to the 40 Days for Life schedule, the only hours with someone signed up in the afternoon are 1:00 – 2:00 pm and 4:00 – 5:00 pm.  It would be best if someone familiar with being at Capital Care be in attendance while they are open.

There are two Prayer Warriors who will try to be there from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.  If any of you Prayer Warriors or Sidewalk Counselors can be there in the afternoon on Saturday, please sign up at 40daysforlife.com/toledo.
If you are someone who doesn’t do well on the computer, please send Bob Schoen an email at BSchoen737@aol.com to let him know when you will be there.
Thank you and God bless.
