A Word from the Pastor by Pastor Matt Musteric

Word PastorDear Fellow Disciples,

This Sunday, inspired by the witness of the Samaritan woman at the well, I invited all of us to talk to someone about Jesus this week.

The high school Digging Deeper (faith formation) class was on the ball! They practiced this by writing down on a card the things they found personally compelling about Jesus. Then they broke up into pairs and shared what they had written with each other.

What a great place to begin with telling someone about Jesus:
What do you find personally compelling about Jesus? Continue reading »

YOU, WOMEN’S HISTORY, AND THE POWER OF SOCIAL SECURITY

March is Women’s History Month — a time to focus not just on the past, but on the challenges women continue to face. Nearly 60 percent of the people receiving Social Security benefits are women, and in the 21st century, more women work, pay Social Security taxes, and earn credit toward monthly retirement income than at any other time in our nation’s history. Knowing this, you can be the author of your own rich and independent history, with a little preparation. Continue reading »

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS MAKE OUR NATION STRONGER
By Erin Thompson

At first, seeing taxes taken out of your paycheck can be a little disappointing. However, you can take pride in knowing you’re making an important impact each week when you contribute to Social Security. Understanding how important your contribution is takes some of the sting away because your taxes are helping millions of Americans — and protecting you and your family for life — as well as wounded warriors, the chronically ill, and disabled. Easily Get Replacement

Social Security Tax Forms Online

By Erin Thompson, Social Security Public Affairs Specialist in Toledo, OH

Tax time is fast approaching. Preparing your documents can seem overwhelming. Some forms and paperwork might be difficult to track down. Social Security has made it easy to track down your annual Benefit Statement. An SSA-1099, or your annual Benefit Statement, is a tax form Social Security mails each year in January to people who receive Social Security benefits. It shows the total amount of benefits received from Social Security in the previous year so people know how much Social Security income to report to the IRS on their tax return. You should receive your SSA-1099 by January 31, 2017. Continue reading »

POSITIVE, UPLIFTING THOUGHT

SONY DSCMy thoughts this weekend focused on things I learned from my Dad. He taught me to see that people are basically good by nature. He said you will usually get what you expect from people so expect the best. Trust others first if you want to be trusted. Respect others until they give you a reason not to trust them. If you want help, help others. If you want to be loved, love yourself and love others.
Does this sound familiar? Maybe you heard it this way: Treat others the way you want to be treated, or “Do unto others what you would have them do unto you”. Do you remember who gave us this “golden rule”? Yes, it was Jesus.
So here is a suggestion: try living this way and see what happens:
Smile first, say hello first, trust people, respect people, always say thank you, help people, be understanding and accepting of people, love life and love people.
I predict that all of the above will came back to you. Isn’t that a happy, positively uplifting thought?
Have a really wonderful week.
Peace,
Terry

Bethel Assembly of God in Perrysburg, Ohio Welcomes New Pastor….

BethelAssemblykevin&tonyaKevin Starr has a passionate desire for God’s word and a move of the Spirit in these last, desperate days in which we live. At an early age, he received a call to ministry at youth camp one summer. He left Ohio for a while to follow what he thought was a career path for himself. After spending a number of years running from that call, the Lord pressed him in 1993 that he should yield. During that conversation with God, the Lord told him that he could keep on the path he was walking or he could accept the call and the work in which the Lord desired for him to do. He accepted with honor and humility that day and has never looked back.

As is his nature, he immediately wanted to get into ministry in any capacity. He began work in his local church. He discovered through God ordained appointments that there was a school of ministry opening in Pensacola, Fl as a result of the salvations taking place during the Brownsville Revival. The Lord impressed upon him that this was the place he was to receive his ministry education. Through experience in both formal education and the “life of hard knocks”, Kevin has become a man who is led by Holy Spirit with a passion to see those around him impacted by the power of God. He also desires to teach them in Word and deed, train them to find God’s call and plan for their lives, activate them into ministry, and release them to do that which God has called them to do!
As the shepherd of God’s flock, Pastor Kevin Starr nurtures spiritual growth through preaching and teaching that taps into the promises and power of God’s Word. Church should be a family with the love of God and the overflowing anointing of Holy Spirit. Pastor Kevin pastors with these principals in mind. He is excited about helping you grow spiritually through practical biblical teaching and exhortation designed to meet your specific needs.
Upon graduating the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry (BRSM), Kevin went to work for Evangelist Steve Hill as Product Manager. He accepted his first pastorate in Evergreen, AL in 1999. After senior pastoring, the Lord called him to serve Pastor John Kilpatrick at Brownsville Assembly as the Young Families/Associate Pastor. The Lord later opened the door to pastor Leeds First Assembly of God in Feb 2003 which later became WellSpring Worship Center. As a hometown boy and graduate of Maumee High School, the Lord has now led Pastor Kevin and his family back to Perrysburg to pastor Bethel Assembly of God. It is an honor to serve a church family that has been so instrumental in developing the spiritual man of God that he is today!

SHOW ME YOUR GLORY

Freedom

Oppression, slavery, lies, disease and injustice are part of a person who is not free, you do not walk alone and always subjected to this pattern. These are the same qualities that our country was under the rule of England, until a man who took the lead and spread to the other person who suffered this attack on their lives, inspiring them to seek freedom, and out of all this oppression receiving leading them to have independence, forming a status where they had freedom with justice, peace, and joy same treatment.
We can tell you that this story is an example of another true story that already happened long ago Avia. Yes!, A leader who stood up to bring these same qualities, but until today many men or women have not wanted to admit it. His name is Jesus.
Being one day with other people who were watching determinedly took a parchment where he remembered these words Avian already mentioned but nobody paid any attention, and said the following The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord‘s favor. Luke 4:18-19
The aim of Jesus is to bring freedom and liberty you can ask that? Freedom from sin, oppression giving, sadness and injustice. All this has already been declared for more than 2,000 years ago, this was signed and agreed with his death and resurrection, the problem that we have not wanted to accept him as our leader that leads to independence from sin. We have the opportunity to enjoy complete freedom in but we did not want to accept, so if you want to celebrate the Independía begins with our Lord Jesus.

On behalf of the Christian Voice want to wish Happy Independence Day.

A famine and thirst is coming

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:Pastor juan
There is a hunger and a thirst for the true anointed word of God in these days and the days to come. Dry religion is not going to do it, we need a mighty move of the Spirit of God in our land we need to hear, thus says the Lord.   Continue reading »

UNITED WE WILL STAND, DIVIDED WE WILL FALL

Pastor MosesYears ago I was involved with a men’s movement called Promise Keepers as a Spanish translator in some of their conferences. Thousands of men would gather together in different stadiums across this country to lift up on high the name of Jesus Christ. John 12:32  “And I, when I am lifted up (exalted) from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” Unity was the force that brought us together.  Cultural and denominational differences were put aside in those gatherings. I believe that today more than ever God wants to bring Christian people together regardless of ethnic origin, denominational background or style of worship. The common factor that must draw us together is that we believe in salvation through Christ alone and we have made Him the Lord of our lives. John 13:35 “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

One of the most notable events that Promise Keepers ever had, happened on October 4, 1997. Thousands of men along with myself had traveled through the night to attend the Stand in the Gap Sacred Assembly in open air at the National Mall in Washington D.C. It was an awesome sight as close to a million men showed up on that day to experience the blessings that God imparted over those that were there as brothers in total unity.

I have been involved in the Who’s My Neighbor Festival since its beginning and I fully support what this festival is trying to accomplish. The passion by Syd and Liz Doyle to make people from other countries who have immigrated to the USA feel welcomed, is something I truly admire. As a citizen of this country, I truly welcome this. My parents immigrated from Mexico many years ago and I would have to say that the Rodriguez family has benefitted by living in a country that allows us the freedom to worship God as one desires, whether it’s in Spanish or English or any other language. My prayer is that the diversity of cultures that we find in this country will unite us to learn from each other and to serve one another. It must not be a means of dividing us. As Christians and as a nation we must not allow this to happen. Psalms 133:1,3 ” How good and
pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life for evermore.”

It’s important to understand that everyone, no matter from what culture they may be from is a creation of God. As believers we have a great opportunity to show them that they can become something more. Children of God. John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
