The Salvation Army Red Kettle Relay and 5K Run

redkettleguy-300x260Toledo, OH (September 1, 2017) — The Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio is excited to announce their 4th Annual Red Kettle Relay and 5K Run. This year the Salvation Army is adding a relay race running prior to Holiday Parade on November 11, 2017. This event both promotes the Red Kettle campaign and serves as a kickoff for the Red Kettle season.

Runners  have the unique opportunity of running on part of the parade route. The course will be three laps around a one mile loop with each member of the three-person relay team running one lap. The traditional 5K race will run concurrently with the relay on the course. In 2016, The Salvation Army served over 31,000 individuals in Northwest Ohio by providing utility, rent, food, clothing, prescription, and transportation assistance.
