The entire month follows within the liturgical season of Easter, which is represented by the liturgical color ‘white’ – the color of light, , a symbol of joy, purity, and innocence. The Holy Father’s intention for May 2017: ‘Christians in Africa: That in every country of the world women may be honored and respected and their essential contribution to society may be highly esteemed’. Feasts for May: Joseph the Worker (5/1), Our Lady of Fatima (5/13), Ascension of Our Lord and St. Mary of Magdalene de Pazzi (5/25), Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (5/31/17).

Among numerous comments by Padre Pio to others: “Father Tarcision Zullo asked Padre Pio: ‘Father, is the Madonna at this moment in this room?’ Padre Pio’s answer: “Wrong formulation. You should have asked, “Did the Madonna ever leave this room?” To Padre Onorato going to Lourdes: “I have been to Lourdes many times. You don’t need a car or a train, as there are other means, too.” To Padre Eusebio Notte: “Our Lady comes to me whenever I need her.”

May we respectfully request that you continue your active support of our monthly Padre Pio Prayer Group gatherings by inserting the following invitation in your parish bulletin: “The Madonna is the shortcut to get to God.” ~ St. Padre Pio. Invite everyone to pray the Rosary daily, requested by Our Lady of the Rosary/Fatima, and exemplified by St. Padre Pio. Join our Padre Pio Prayer Group (PPPG-CK) each 2nd Saturday (May 13, 2017) monthly for the 8 AM Mass, Rosary, Discussion, and Adoration @ Christ the King Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623. Access ‘www.pppg.org’ for info. Contact Magdalena Skiles (419) 356-42087 or email: ‘magdalena@magdalenaskiles.com’.
